Holly Sweeney-Hillman

Tai Chi Instructor

Holly Sweeney-Hillman, Center Director for Bedminster/Montclair Yang Family Tai Chi Center and Senior level instructor of Traditional Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan, has been teaching movement arts for 25 years and is an Adjunct Professor of Tai Chi Chuan at Kean University, Union, New Jersey.

She has an undergraduate degree in Graphic Arts and Dance from Mary Washington College, graduate degree in Orthopedic Biomechanics from New York University, and is certified in the F.M. Alexander Technique and Craniosacral Therapy.

Holly began studying Yang style Tai Chi Chuan in 1986 and has been a student of Grandmasters Yang Zhenduo and Yang Jun since 1995.

She became a Yang Family Center Director in 2002. She currently serves as the academic coordinator for the North American Yang Family Tai Chi Teacher Academy and has written numerous articles about biomechanics for the International Journal of Tai Chi Chuan.  She developed and presents the anatomy and biomechanics content for the Yang Family Teachers Academy seminars in North America.

In addition to tai chi; she loves horse riding and recurve bow archery.

Her first tai chi center was founded in 1998 as Tai Chi Montclair. Her school as a tai chi instructor was declared as an official Yang Family Tai Chi Center in 2002 and is now located in Pottersville, NJ.
